Located at an altitude of 1033 meters on Mount Mainalon, Vitina is a picturesque and well-preserved village. It is probably the best known village of Arcadia. In the forested area you can find distinctive houses and cottages and it is one of the most popular and crowded destinations, especially in winter. The trees that surround the area are the main food source for the beehives of the region and this is how the great and famous vanilla-honey is produced and can be purchased in the area. Vitina could be your base for excursions to the neighboring villages of Dimitsana and Stemnitsa, for walks in the mountains or even for a visit to the nearby ski resort, Mainalon.
