The four halls of the Art Gallery of the Cultural Centre of the Archbishop Makarios III contain a unique collection of representative works of art of Western Europe from the Renaissance to modern times, as well as Greek and Cypriot masterpieces. The collection is divided into four sections:
- Western European Paintings (15th-19th century) portraying mainly religious and mythological themes as well as portraits and landscapes, works attributed to Sebastino del Piombo, Francesco Vanni, Nicolas Poussin, Theodore Gericault, Eugene Delacroixetc.
- Greece in the 18th and 19th century through paintings, engravings and maps with particular emphasis on the theme of the Greek Revolution of 1821.
- Greek paintings (19th and 20th century) which show the evolution of Greek painting since the establishment of the Greek state (1830) until today.
- Cypriot paintings (20th century) which marked the world due to their diversity. Many Cypriot artists participate in international exhibitions.
