The museum houses a remarkable collection of samples of the fauna and flora of the region. It opened in 1966 and its exhibits are divided mainly into two categories: sea and land. You can see an aquarium, an excellent collection of shells, dolphins skeletons and an impressive collection of flora which comes from the research of Professor Dimitris Voliotis.
The museum has developed a significant educational activity by organizing and hosting conferences and events with themes such as ecology and the flora and fauna.
