Mount Parnon is the biggest mountain of the Peloponnese, occupying an area of 2 million hectares. On the mountain you will find some of the most beautiful and picturesque mountain villages of Greece, such as Karyes, Vresthena, Polydroso, Geraki, and Saint Dimitrios. Because of its many peaks, valleys, plateaus, canyons of infinite beauty, dense vegetation, forests and rare fauna, Mount Parnon is now part of the European network Natura 2000. At an altitude of 600 meters and higher, you will find fir and pine trees. Lower than this and near the villages you will meet dense chestnut and oak forests. There are many hiking trails and forest roads on the mountain and this makes the place ideal for hiking and mountain biking.
