The monastery was inaugurated on August 10th, 1965. It is built in Byzantine architecture and contains frescoes by famous painters. Since its founding the monastery follows the old calendar. Every year, on June 29th, there is a huge celebration in the memory of Saint Savas. The Monastery is a spiritual refuge which calms the soul of the Pilgrims. In the interior you will see the excellent hagiographies by Fotis Kontoglou as well as many relics and worship items.
