This huge rock is accessible by land and inaccessible by sea. It is a natural monument for the island and home to rare species of flora. It is also well known for its impressive geo-morphological elements. The rock was used - at least occasionally - in the Middle Ages as a place of refuge from the invaders.

On the rock you can also see the old Church of Panagia Kalamiotissa. It is a single-room domed temple with peculiar architectural elements, surrounded by cells and a small water tank. The geographical position and the imposing view of the monastery cause indescribable awe to whoever visits it.
