The trails, a unique network of about 200 kilometers, were created for the needs of the locals. Few of them date back to the third millennium BC and some of them are paved while others are just dirt roads. If you follow them they will take you to monasteries and chapels, monuments of popular culture such as wells, fountains, pigeon houses, ancient towers, mining ruins, threshing floors, lime-kilns and mills.

The best time for hiking on Sifnos is spring and autumn when the weather is cool. The island has beencharacterized as a botanical paradise so while hiking you will see different kinds of herbs, cedar and wild flowers.
