Saint Nicholas is the patron saint of the island and the protector of seafood. The magnificent Church of St. Nicholas is located in the center of the village. Its interior is richly decorated with excellent hagiographies and thousands of votive offerings from sailors. The sacred relics of the Saint were transferred here from Sicily in December 2001.
