The Church of Panagia Thalassitra is the most photographed church on the island. In 1739 this church was merely a chapel which was demolished so that they could build the current Church which also incorporates the nearby Frankish Church of Panagia Eleousa. In the church you can see 17th century paintings from the famous hagiographic workshop of Skordilidon, the wooden temple and the coat of arms of the Duke of Naxos.
