The findings exhibited in the Archaeological Museum cover a long period of time starting from the middle Paleolithic era (200.000-35.000 BC) until the late Roman times. In a separate room in the museum you can see the findings of the excavations of the German archaeologist Wilhelm Dorpfeld, who developed the theory that the island is Homer's Ithaca. The exhibition includes tools, ceramics, jewelry and funerary gifts of tombs mostly from ancient Nirikos, Nidri, Choirospilia in Evgiros and the cave in Frini.

The museum is housed in the Cultural Centre of Lefkada.
