Amoudi is a small port near Oia. This is where the merchants of the island loaded their sailing ships with local products -among them the famous Santorini wine "Vinsanto"-  and travelled to Russia and other countries. The buildings of Amoudi served as warehouses for goods.

In the mid-1970s, the restoration of buildings damaged by the earthquake of 1956 began in Oia by the Greek National Tourism Organization. At the same time the 800m promenade that leads to the church of St. Nicholas was constructed while in1991 the asphalt road that connects Oia with Amoudi was created.

In the port of Amoudi you will find taverns and a lovely small pebbly beach. You can also rent a boat and go to the islet of St. Nicholas which is famous for its crystal clear waters.
